About
My name is Renee. I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) and the owner of Nutrition Redefined. I left a successful career in the architecture/engineering industry to follow my passion of helping others with celiac disease, non-celiac wheat sensitivity, and other gut health issues.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and completed my Dietetic Internship (1200+ hours of supervised practice) at the University of New Mexico. I also received my graduate degree in Nutrition from the University of New Mexico. I am registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and am a Licensed Dietitian (LD) in New Mexico.
Most of my experience has been with clinical medical nutrition therapy, celiac disease/gluten intolerance, weight management and corporate wellness. I am the gluten-free diet expert for celiac disease for the Albuquerque, NM metro area.
In addition to my private practice, I wear multiple nutrition-related hats:
Part-Time Nutrition Faculty at Central New Mexico Community College
Part Time Nutrition Instructor (PRN) at the University of New Mexico
Chairperson for Albuquerque Gluten Intolerance Support Group
I am a member of:
Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Medical Nutrition Therapy Practice Group
Dietitians in Gluten and Gastrointestinal Disorders Dietetic Practice Group (Chair)
Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetic Practice Group
New Mexico Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
National Celiac Association
On a personal note, I live near Albuquerque, NM with my husband of 20+ years, my two crazy Labradors, one noisy cockatiel, a flock of egg-laying hens and a couple of honeybee hives. In my spare time I enjoy walking in the natural areas outside my front door with my husband and dogs, “botanizing” with my husband, reading, cooking, gardening, bird-watching and doing yoga. We are also in the process of restoring a 1972 Serro Scotty camping trailer from the frame up.
